WAP                Wireless Application Protocol. Technology used to transmit
                   data over wireless communcation networks.
									 
Warez              Illegal or pirated copies of software sold to unsuspecting users
                   for profit.


WAV                A wave form sample of sound or music. Common format used on
                   PC computers.


WebDAV             Web distributed Authoring and Versioning. System used for
                   collaborative web site development between many web designers.

WhiteCap           Similar technology as WiFi used to stream multimedia content.


WiFi               Standard network protocol for wireless networking using the
                   digital radio in the 2.4GHz frequency band.

Wii                Nintendo's game console which supports remote controllers that
                   have accelerators and infra red sensors on it for more physical
                   gestures from players.
                   
Window             Name given to an area or framed area of the screen. Consists of
                   four borders, with a title bar and sizing buttons.
									 
Windows            Also name of Microsoft`s Operating System. Versions include
                   1, 2, 3.0, 3.1, 3.11, NT, 95, 98, 98SE, ME, CE, 2000, XP, 2003,
                   Vista, 2008, 7.

WINS               Windows Internet Name Service. Similar to DNS but resolves
                   NetBIOS names to IP addresses (instead of Host names).
									 
WorldWideWeb       Name given to the text and graphics based view of the internet.
                   Uses HTTP protocol to view HTML pages over the internet using a
                   program called a Browser. Common browsers are the Internet
                   Explorer, Netscape Communicator, Mozilla, Opera, Lynx etc.

Word Processor     An application program which processes words like a type writer
                   but with extra features such as picture insertion, spell and
                   grammer checking and so on.

WSH                Windows Scripting Host. A scripting system using Javascript or 
                   Visual Basic Scripting to write programs to automate tasks.



WYSIWYG            What you see is what you get. A visual representation of what
                   you write on screen is what you get on output whether a letter,
                   a document or web page.
