Scanners and Cameras

Windows XP has added this control panel, similar to the Printers control panel, to add or remove Digital Camera or flat bed scanners to your system. Simply insert the CD and click Add an imaging device in the Tasks panel to load the Wizard add your camera or scanner to your system. Windows XP only comes with a limited number of drivers so have your CD ready to install your device.

Most modern cameras now come with facilities for SmartCards, Flash Cards and Memory Sticks. Drivers for these are not usually required (see documentation first), and when connected to the computer by USB they will be automatically detected and a new drive letter will appear in My Computer so you can directly access the pictures via Explorer.
